CowConnect® Malai Madu Variant A2 Ghee

Introduction

CowConnect® Malai Madu Variant Ghee is crafted from the milk of one of India’s rarest indigenous cow breeds—the Malai Madu, once on the brink of extinction. Native to the Western Ghats, these cows produce limited milk, making this ghee naturally rare and highly valued.

Known for its rich nutrition, distinct aroma, and deep flavour, this ghee reflects the natural grazing of cows on diverse herbs and medicinal plants found in the hills. Every spoon enhances both taste and nourishment.

By choosing this product, you also support the preservation of the Malai Madu breed—one of the few remaining heritage cattle of India.

What Makes It Special

  • Sourced from 100% pure Malai Madu desi cows
  • Naturally low milk yield (~1–1.5 litres/day) ensures high nutrient density
  • Cows graze freely on medicinal plants in the Western Ghats
  • Rare, small-batch production

Traditional Bilona Process

Our ghee is made using the authentic Vedic Bilona method:

  • Milk is cultured into curd overnight
  • Curd is bi-directionally churned to obtain makkhan (butter)
  • Butter is slowly heated to produce ghee

It takes 30–35 litres of milk to produce just 1 litre of ghee, ensuring purity, richness, and traditional quality.

Purity & Ethical Sourcing

  • 100% pure, no adulteration or blending
  • No hormones or injections used on cows
  • Calves are fed first before milking
  • Produced following Ahimsa (ethical) practices
