Our signature Malai Madu Variant Ghee is made from the whole milk of country’s rarest desi breed of Malai Madu Cow which was until recently, nearing extinction. Our cows are native to the western ghats of southern India. Our ghee is derived from the A2 milk of 100% pure breed cows which hardly total few thousands in number and each yield only about 2 litres of milk per day. The Ghee is made using traditional vedic bilona method.

Description:
Our Malai Madu Cows are 100% pure breed Desi Cows which total to hardly few thousands in number all over India. They are native to Western Ghats of Southern India and graze on many unique herbs and medicinal plants in the hills. This gives the rich medicinal nature and distinct aroma and taste to our Ghee.
Also, Malai Madu Cows provide a very limited milk quantity of 1 to 1.5 litres per day, which also contributes to the highly nutritious nature of their milk. Our Ghee is made strictly by the Vedic/Bilona method that involves culturing 30-35 litres of milk overnight to make curd, bi-directional churning of curd to seperate out Makkhan/soft butter and finally, heating of Makkhan to make 1 litre of ghee. We ensure that heating is done on a slow flame to keep the nutrition and aroma of Ghee intact.
Therefore, limited quantities of milk along with an eloborate and labour consuming process of making Ghee places it in the category of premium, rare and more expensive than usual.
Lastly, as per CowConnect’s promise of ethics, our ghee is made from the milk of Cows that are extremely happy, loved and treated with ethics and dignity. They are never injected with hormones and are milked only after the calves get their due share. This gives our Ahimsa ghee it’s fine qualities and superior nature which is in Ayurvedic terms called Sattvikta.

This Malai Madu variant is really awesome on the account of its natural aroma and naturally sweet taste. This is so tasteful that any ghee lover would drink this whole ghee at once (said jokingly). So far I never had such delicious ghee in my life. I would like to buy more of this variant.
The price is little bit high but it is justified on account of the breed chosen for the milk, which is scarce and yield less milk but high quality milk with medicinal value.
